Comments and contributions are always more than welcome, as indeed are corrections. The old ‘ESSA voices’ forum has been discontinued but if sufficient interest is shown I will initiate a Facebook page - in the meantime everything will be published here, either directly on the page or via downloadable pdf files. Job vacancies can, of course, be advertised - see ‘vacancies’ link. Free for ESSA members. Non-members: £150. Information on upcoming Conferences will be published under the ‘conferences’ link, as well as notes, reports and photos of conferences past. Steve Campbell - webmaster The Emergency Social Services Association’s purpose is to bring together workers in Emergency Duty and Out of Hours Social Care Services. ESSA AGM Download Conference evaluation This View from the Chair is clouded by wind and rain, and as such does not look very far into the future. The majority (if not all) our members will be just starting to recover from the Out of Hours (EDT) siege that is Christmas and New Year Breaks.  I trust you all have ample opportunity to gain some respite from the longer than average hours and the busiest period in our calendars. What now? well the Exec is meeting in Cardiff late January so the new plans will be considered there. We may well be deciding on a new conference co-ordinator in this meeting - then details of next (or this?) Year's conference will begin to take shape. Feedback from the last conference was very positive, it is always good to know you have found the functions useful and a strong vehicle for networking. I will bring further views to you next month, when, perhaps, the is a wider vista. In the meantime if any of the members wish to comment about the College of Social Work and their request for volunteers to spread the word I would be most interested. Bye for Now! Damon Hello ESSA, May I initially wish you all a very Happy New Year and a fulfilled future. Central Bedfordshire - see vacancies
